Luke is 3 months old

There's not much to say...I'm enamored with him at times.  He is the happiest and most calm baby I've been around; the Lord knew I needed that.  Happy 3 months, Luke!  We love you...

Football Season is here

Yea for football!  Ron and the boys watched some on TV and we thought it would only be right to dress Luke up in a Bama onesie.  Don't worry Auburn fans, we have a lot more clothes supporting the orange and blue.

WE SOLD OUR HOUSE!!!!!

Praise the Lord it sold!  Thank you for all your prayers.  We are so glad to have such dear friends and family to support us through this time.  We close on our house 4 weeks from today.  So now we just have to find another one.  And the one we find will be one to last us for a good 10 or 15 years...we're tired of moving and I'm sure you're all tired of having to update your address books!  :)

We love you all...

Cell Phone Companies...which one is best?

I hate our cell phone carrier.  I used to love AT&T, but in the last 6 months it has become a thorn in my side.  Our calls are full of static, we have calls dropped almost daily, and the phones have started feeding back with this awful high-pitched shriek for whatever reason.  Ouch!  So, please leave your comment here and let me know who YOU use and if you're satisfied with their service.  I'm seriously thinking of making the switch...

Family picture

On TV today Little Bear took a family portrait.  After Sam watched that he decided we needed to take a family portrait.  So after dinner at Rosie's we came home and got this picture which captured us in a very funny moment.  Ron has this saying "Sammy rocks rocks that rock the block".  I don't know where he got it from, but he's said it for years.  Sam said it tonight right before the picture and we were all cracking up laughing...I hope I look at this picture in the future and remember how fun that exact moment was.

the boys

I have a lot on my mind these days, so I decided to take a picture of my boys yesterday to pass the time and keep me from thinking too much.
So as you can tell in the first picture Ron and Luke are glued to the TV and Sam is glued to the robot in Ron's hands.  In case you're wondering, they were watching golf.

This next picture is nice with all their atten- tion on me.  Just the way I like it.  :)

Super-busy

We've been super-busy...I have a post in mind but haven't had the time; hopefully I'll get to that by tomorrow.  In the meantime, here are a few pictures of the boys...
I took these last night just before their bedtime.  I got off the phone with Grandee and she mentioned how much she missed Sam and Luke, so here are some snapshots for you and the other g-parents.

Sam didn't want his picture taken at first because I took his pacifier from him.  I told him to smile and be silly for the camera and he'd get it back; he obliged.

The man who is interested in our house is coming back tomorrow at noon so we'll be cleaning and trying to make our home as beautiful as we can before church.  We'll keep you posted if anything comes of it...

LSU attire

Ron's a Bama fan, I'm an Auburn fan, our cousins are LSU fans.
They were kind enough to send us some new clothes for our boys.  If you can't read it, Sam's shirt says "I hate veggies and the crimson tide".  The back of Luke's onesie says "I'm behind the LSU tigers...open with caution".  Thank you Gretchen!  Be looking for us to return the favor soon...  :)

Sam's Waggle

I don't know where he learned it from, but Sam does a "booty shake" before kicking a ball.  It's pretty funny...

House Update

Some of you have asked, so I thought I'd give y'all a house update.  Our house has not sold, but we are in the early stages of looking for a new house anyway... We found one we are interested in and are praying about whether or not to pursue it right now.  In the meantime, we had a showing this morning and the guy who saw it is very interested.  He is coming back in a few days and will be in touch with our realtor.

Thanks for all your prayers and we appreciate your future prayers also!  We'll let you know if anything develops...

We love you all!

Our weekend

This morning I woke up to a very happy baby.  He hasn't stayed that way, but at least it started out nice.  Pops got to hold Luke before heading in to work and got some wonderful smiles.

My best friend Stacey is here from Boston for a couple of days.  We met in college 10 years ago and she's still one of my favorite people!  We went to Rosie's last night and enjoyed Fajitas and Margaritas...yum!

Chattanooga

Ron and I took the boys to Chattanooga last weekend for a little vacation.  We had fun visiting the Tennessee Aquarium, Creative Discovery Museum, and the Tennessee Valley Railroad.  We also enjoyed yummy food thanks to suggestions from friends.

There was a small boat made of brick outside one of the restaurants we ate at...here is Ron and Sam reeling in the fish they caught.

Sam had fun riding the train.  He especially enjoyed going through the old tunnel!

Here are a few pictures at the aquarium.  He enjoyed crawling up into the tunnel to get a closer view of the "Nemo" fish (clown fish).

The museum was fun; a lot like the McWayne Center in Birmingham.  His favorite things were the water toys and the huge sand area with dinosaur bones.

This morning...

This morning... Sam and Pierson playing together quite well.  Of course there was a little shoving and hitting, but that's what boyhood is all about.  They watched Toy Story 2 together for a little bit.  Notice Pierson is holding Woody and Sam is holding Buzz..

Luke decided to smile for a few pictures this morning.  What a cutie!

i don't have time to do a full post, but there are pictures to the left...just click on "view photos".  i'll post more later.

Vacation time...

Hey everyone-

No pictures today; just an update. Ron and I are with the boys in Chattanooga for a much-needed family vacation. Luke and Sam have both done great so far. As of now Sam's favorite thing is the penguin exhibit at the Aquarium. Unfortunately he was more crazy about buying one in the gift shop than actually seeing them.

We ate dinner last night at Sticky Fingers. Thank you Anna for telling us about it...we loved it!

Sam and Luke are napping now while I sit in the lobby of our hotel catching up on the internet. After naptime we're off to the children's museum then dinner at Big River Grille, a brewpub our friend Amanda told us about.

Hopefully I'll post some pictures of our trip by Monday. Have a great weekend everyone!

Sam got some new kicks today.  He loves them (although he didn't want me to take his picture in them).  Ron ordered some old-school Adidas for him and they came in the mail this afternoon.  Now I get to teach him how to tie his shoelaces...
Luke had his 2 month check-up today.  He weighs 12 1/2 lbs. and he's in the 60th percentile for his weight.  Unfortunately I have to go back next week to get his shots.  They wouldn't give them today because he had a fever of 100.1.  He has a viral infection (we think).  Sam and I have also been a little under the weather, so I guess we all have the same thing.

Megan's party

Today we went to a birthday party at Jump Zone in Madison.  Megan, Sam's friend from gymnastics, turned 3 and invited a bunch of little ones to join in on the fun.  When we first got there Sam stood on the stairs and whined...for some reason he didn't want to go play.  But within 5 or 10 minutes of playing with me he decided he could have fun without me.

Sam and Megan had fun sliding together.
They served the kids pizza, juice boxes and cupcakes after they played.
Sam is so much like me it's scary.  Just like me, he doesn't enjoy getting his hands dirty.  I mean we'll do it if necessary, but it's not at the top of our list.  He tried eating his cupcake without his hands to avoid dirty fingers.  I gave him a fork after taking this picture and he was much happier.

Nursery Decor

My sister-in-law just finished decorating the nursery for the arrival of her little one in a few months.  I love what she did and thought I'd share it with those of you who are always looking for a fun and new way to decorate.  She took an old children's book (about 20 years old I think), ripped out the pages, and applied them one-by-one on the wall with wallpaper paste.  What a fun idea!

Sam's first buzz cut

Sam really didn't want me to take any pictures of his new haircut today.  The 3rd picture is when he finally quit covering his face and closing his eyes.  I think Pops did a great job...I love the new look.

Busy day

What a busy day.  As you can see above, I took a few pictures of Luke since he's now 2 MONTHS OLD!  It's really hard to believe.  He's back to waking up that one time in the middle of the night.  A full night's rest was good while it lasted.  Maybe it won't be long before it becomes a regular thing.  Anyways...he's doing good and growing like a weed.
Ron and I celebrated 9 years of marriage yesterday.  Woo-Hoo to us.  We ate at the Chef's Table in Jones Valley.  You should check it out if you haven't already.  Their food is delicious and you get a lot of it despite Adam's aversion to small plates.  :)
So here's the kicker.  Yesterday afternoon I mentioned to Pops that Sam needed a haircut.  And Sam only lets Pops cut his hair.  I also mentioned to Pops that he could buzz it if he wanted while we were at dinner.  You guessed it!  Sam actually let him do it.  The worst part about it is that Sam was in bed when we got home so I haven't seen it yet.  I literally woke up in the middle of the night wondering what he looked like.  The anticipation is killing me.  I'll definitely post a picture later today.  My apologies to Grandee...I know you were hoping this would never happen.
