Since this is our first official post, I feel like I should introduce The Philley Pham. This feels strange since probably no one will "stumble upon" our blog, but in the case that you don't already know us, here goes. We are four, (don't let the picture fool you) Dad, Mom, Son, and yet to be named baby #2 (we'll call it #2 for now). We live in Huntsville, AL, a wonderful town with wonderful rockets and wonderful people. Since getting married, Penny and I have moved 8 or 9 times, so we're not use to being in a place for more than a couple weeks, but Huntsville's been home to us since 2004. For work: I'm a physician assistant in orthopedic spine surgery (for those of you who have no idea what this is, here's a link www.aapa.org, it'll tell you what you need to know) and Penny is a domestic goddess (which is way harder than what I do). Sam came along in October 2005 and is currently in a USOC development program for future world class distance runners who just happen to have genius level IQ's. In his spare time he plays with Thomas the Tank Engine and watches Curious George. #2 is set to arrive in June 2008. You'll get to know the Philley Pham alot better if you follow our blog as we hope to post/update frequently.
'til next time

I was in that USOC program and we all know how that worked out, don't we!
Hello all, here it is Saturday, after Christmas and we have the joy of anticipating our family Christmas this afternoon. Ron and Penny and Sam were unable to be here on the actual Christmas Day, so we have them now and Stannon and family will be here later for all the festivities. When one stops and thinks about it, having four children under the age of 5 can be quite "festive"!! There certainly won't be any down time. :)
But as I sit here at the computer and type this, I am hearing Sam and Pops play as eagerly with each other as a group of kids fighting for a turn on the merry go round at a park. That is the sweetest sound to hear, their laughter, their squeals of delight, listening to Sam respond to his Pops antics, what a joyous sound! It hasn't taken me long to understand that this guy thing is an unbreakable bond. Sam has one very recognizable word in his vocabulary.....POPS!! B doesn't need to be around, except at times of food or possibly a change in the diapers. However, POPS can even take care of those needs. I think my role as grandmother is just to sit and listen and watch, which has been fine-tuned to an art.
Grandchildren are truly a joy, each one gives something to grandparents that is not possible for purchase, it is a gift. Gifts of love, laughter, joy, tenderness, wet kisses, hugs, complete trust- these can be stored away in our memory bank as long as we can remember them, that is, and treasure their sweetness forever. However, as believers, we also have a responsibility that is a blessing...show these children the love and acceptance we have for them as a stepping stone to the love and acceptance of our Lord Jesus Christs' love for all of us. Amazing Grace!!
Why do I write this today? Just want to share with all of you the fullness of my heart and encourage you if you have the opportunity to enjoy the moments we are all given. Don't take any of them for granted, time is too short.
God bless all of you, B
